The Mom Chronicles. Day 3. Finally! Access to the Craft Room!

20151231_190701“I am 5 now! I can finally go into the craft room at the library!” A huge monumental birthday achievement! I am so pleased to say that my daughter waited so patiently for over a year and a half to be able to have access to this art room. Sure, in the beginning there were a few temper tantrums as I would dreadfully walk past the craft area every Thursday when my older son volunteered, but very quickly, it became ” I can’t wait until I am FIVE to be able to go in the craft room!” I truly believe this milestone for her was comparable to an 18 year olds ability for finally being able to see rated “R” movies, or a 21 year finally being able to buy liquor.

The excitement that children possess for their birthdays are eternal 20160103_165435memories and one of the many blessings we as parents get to cherish as we watch them grow year after year.  My children range from ages 5-16, so I am fully immersed  in pre-school thru teenager activities daily. Although it is absolutely chaotic and mind boggling to juggle and attend to the vast needs of such a variety of ages and switch from mentoring a young child, a pre-teen and a full blown teenager learning how to drive, I must say there is never a dull moment. My days are filled with diversity, many laughs, many firsts, many fights, and much love.

20160103_170132As I celebrated the fifth birthday of my daughter, I was reminded how exciting everything seems to a child who is patiently growing into each stage of life.  One should never take any moments for granted as time does not stop for anyone, and goes so very fast especially when the days are so full of family activities and life.  I like to20160103_165147 think as time as a spiral and that something special happens each year on our birthdays. That same energy that the universe invested in us at birth is once again present. When that energy is shared with friends and family celebrating in the journey of like, wonderful birthday experiences manifest. Happy birthday, beautiful daughter!

  1. 5!!!! It IS a big deal!! Life is crazy and there are days when they blur by and I feel like my head has barely hit the pillow and groundhog day starts all over again. But the celebrations and unique moments in between are what life is all about. Loving the blog Ang!!
